The UNC Lenoir Health Information Services staff celebrated Health Information Professionals Week March 18-24.  AHIMA organizes HIP Week each year to recognize Health Information Professionals and the contributions they make to the health care industry.   The career opportunities for HIM professionals are endless and may include options in Coding, CDI, Informatics, Risk Management, Privacy & Security and so much more including traditional Health Information Services roles.  This year’s national theme is “Our Future Is Bright.” 

The UNC Lenoir team has enjoyed a week of special activities, lots of food, and door prizes.  On Tuesday, March 21, we held a dessert fair and a distinguished panel of judges selected Michelle Aycock’s turtle cookies as the winner for the Best Presentation Award and Brittney Tice’s no-bake Oreo pie as the winner for the Best Tasting Award.  Email Wanda Wheeler at wwheeler@lenoir.org if you’d like the recipes.
