UNC Lenoir Health Care announces the addition of Katie Jones, RN, to the Cardiac Rehab Services and Corporate and Community Health Departments. Katie most recently worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department and is excited to taking on new challenges. “Working at UNC Lenoir is a family affair, my sister works in the Emergency Department, my mother worked several years in Rehab Services and my father, Joe Clay, is the chairman of the hospital’s Patient Advisory Committee. I live in the local community and am committed to working in this community, even my finance’s mother works at UNC Lenoir! I am excited at this next chapter in my career and look forward to getting to know my cardiac rehab patients and the area workplaces we serve through our Corporate and Community Health efforts,” said Jones.
Katie Jones is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, where she was on the Chancellor’s List, Dean’s List, Honor Roll, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She began her career at Vidant Medical Center and has been employed at UNC Lenoir since July, 2017.
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a program that helps patients with specific heart conditions adopt heart healthy lifestyle behaviors. This experience will include structured exercise, nutrition counseling, and psychological support.
UNC Lenoir Health Care Cardiac Rehab is certified through the N.C. DHSR or Division of Health Service Regulation The program is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is a member of the Medical Fitness Association. Corporate and Community Health services are available for companies who need to purchase a variety of services including flu shots, blood pressure evaluations, and other health and wellness worksite services.
