A Message of Congratulations From the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commercer

Congratulations to UNC Lenoir a Silver Presidential supporter of the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber
of Commerce.  Our local hospital has achieved two major milestones in patient safety and care. We thank you for the care our hospital and all the medical staff are providing for our community during this current medical crisis and we congratulate you on the major improvements you continue to make in patient care and safety. 

UNC Lenoir Health Care was recently awarded an “A” in the Spring of 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing UNC Lenoir’s achievements providing safe health care.  The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of safety data to assign grades to more than 2600 acute-care hospitals twice per year.  This is the first time UNC Lenoir has received an “A” Rating!

UNC Lenoir was upgraded from a 3-Star to a 4-Star rating in patient satisfaction by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.(CMS) The HCSHPS patient satisfaction survey is a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology for measuring patient perspectives on hospital care.  All hospitals in the country are awarded a star rating based upon the HCSHPS Survey scores. This is the first time UNC Lenoir has received a 4 Star Rating.

These are two outstanding milestones that impact the quality of life and service in our community.  We thank you and commend UNC Lenoir for providing outstanding healthcare to our community.
