Harleigh Blackman Named 2023 President’s Service Excellence Award Winner of the Year for UNC Health Lenoir
UNC Health Lenoir is pleased to announce that Harleigh Blackman is the 2023 President’s Service Excellence Award winner. The PSEA is selected by peers as an employee who exemplifies superior performance, strong leadership, effective communication, and service excellence. Harleigh began employment in June of 2019 as a Dietary Technician. In November 2020, she obtained her Phlebotomy Certification and became a Phlebotomist Technician.
Her colleagues shared, “Harleigh has shown phlebotomy skills well beyond her years. Her adaptability, strong work ethic, and self-motivation make her an asset to the UNC Health Lenoir team. Harleigh has been appointed Head Trainer for new phlebotomist hires and Phlebotomy Students. Though there have been many to walk through the doors here at Lenoir, few measure up to Harleigh. She is reliable, trustworthy, and always pleasant. I watch her as she leads and trains new phlebotomists and phlebotomy students, and she does it gracefully. Harleigh is dedicated and always willing to go the extra mile, and we are blessed to have her here at Lenoir.”

Harleigh assists with training of new phlebotomists and Phlebotomy Students. She presents with a professional, yet friendly approachable manner when dealing with patients and staff. She has excellent problem-solving skills and is quick to lend a helping hand to others, no matter what is needed. Harleigh is a pleasure to work with and her positive attitude is contagious amongst the staff.”
